Spelled is a cereal very similar to wheat (even in its properties). It was widely used in ancient times while today it is less preferred than other cereals. Thanks to its high fiber content it has beneficial properties especially for the motility of the intestine and for intestinal transit which make it a particularly healthy food for this organ (the “cleaning” of which is fundamental for the preservation of our state of health since it guarantees the good functioning of our immune system which, as we know, is largely concentrated in the intestine). It is rich in vegetable proteins which make it very useful for vegetarians and all those who find a low protein intake in their diet. It is also very rich in mineral salts (potassium, magnesium, sodium, zinc, calcium, phosphorus, iron etc. ) and therefore capable of promoting the vital functions of our organism. Spelled contains the presence of B vitamins useful for our cellular system. Spelled flour can be an excellent substitute for wheat flour (especially white flour). It can be used for the preparation of desserts, pasta and various homemade products.
